Route to Roots: A Two-Day Journey into Joyful Mathematics

A two-day mathematics workshop, “Route to Roots”, was conducted under the guidance of Mr Sandeep Sethi, an experienced educator known for his innovative and joyful approach to teaching mathematics. The workshop aimed to make the subject more engaging, activity- based and learner-friendly for both teachers and students. Mr Sethi introduced fun, creative methods to help remove the fear often associated with mathematics, drawing on storytelling, games and real-life connections. A highlight was the introduction to comic novels on the DIKSHA platform, which teachers can use to bring different chapters to life through visual storytelling. The session also covered hands-on Kaushal Bodh activities that schools can use to strengthen conceptual clarity and build problem-solving and collaborative skills. Teachers left with practical, joyful teaching strategies to ease maths anxiety and build more student-centred classrooms, along with fresh ideas for making mathematics enjoyable, meaningful, and accessible for all learners.

The supportive environment, dedicated teachers, and caring staff have played a key role in our child’s academic and personal growth. Having moved from Dubai, we were initially concerned about the transition, but the school’s warm and welcoming atmosphere made the adjustment seamless. The guidance, encouragement and focused support provided during Class 10 board preparation helped our child achieve an excellent score and build confidence. We sincerely thank the Principal, teachers and the entire school community for their unwavering support and for making this journey so delightful.

Learning by Doing: A Hands-On Take on Research-Based Education & Design Thinking

Training on Research-Based Education & Design Thinking, conducted by Ms Sushma Srinivasan on 21st May 2026. The session was an energising, hands-on experience that moved teachers beyond theory and into practice, using classroom-friendly activities they can replicate directly with students. Methods explored included the Gallery Walk, Stand Up If You…, wallet-making, and creating Ban Plastic posters and slogans, each showing how learning becomes active and meaningful when children investigate, create and share. The training reinforced the idea behind the Cone of Learning: students remember only 10% of what they read but up to 90% of what they do, leaving teachers with practical strategies for research-based learning and design thinking that help children grasp concepts more deeply and hold on to them longer.

Scoring 98.6%: A Grade X Topper’s Story of Grit and Gratitude

Abhinav, a student of The Knowledge Habitat School, scored 98.6% in his Grade X boards, the highest in his batch this year. In his own words: “I joined this school midway through Grade 9, and it’s brought its share of surprises, along with plenty of friendliness and support. Settling into the teaching style wasn’t difficult, as the teachers were kind, cooperative and encouraging. As I progressed, I realised that solving previous years’ question papers blindly wasn’t enough, analysing my mistakes and building strategies to avoid them mattered more, and my teachers played a big role in helping me spot and correct those errors. None of this would have been possible without my mother, who has supported me every step of the way. Academics aren’t everything to me. I believe strongly in taking part in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities such as debates, MUNs, dance and acting, because creativity and the human touch are what will set people apart in future. My father has pushed me to think critically, stay curious and engage with the world beyond the classroom, and I owe much of that mindset to him. Looking ahead, I hope to become an entrepreneur, building businesses and products that solve real problems. As I like to say: life has no definition, you make one for yourself.”

From Kitchen Gardens to Climate Conversations: Celebrating Environment Week

As part of World Environment Week celebrations, The Knowledge Habitat organised a series of activities for students across all grades to build environmental awareness, responsibility and sustainable habits. Students in Grades 6, 7, 8, 9, and 11 took part in interactive sessions facilitated by Dr Annapurna, supported by Eco Club in-charge Mr Anooj M. Vijayan and Ms Mimansa , exploring environmental consciousness, sustainable living, waste management, and civic responsibility. The discussions were lively, with students raising thoughtful questions about taxation, waste segregation and whether individual voices can bring about change. Kindergarten students took part in a Kitchen Garden activity, learning the basics of planting and caring for saplings. At the same time, classes across the school engaged in discussions, poster-making and other projects centred on conservation and sustainable living. The week gave students of all ages the chance to question, reflect and think about practical ways to reduce waste and adopt more environmentally responsible habits, with several expressing interest in joining the Eco Club.
