Route to Roots: A Two-Day Journey into Joyful Mathematics

A two-day mathematics workshop, “Route to Roots”, was conducted under the guidance of Mr Sandeep Sethi, an experienced educator known for his innovative and joyful approach to teaching mathematics. The workshop aimed to make the subject more engaging, activity-based and learner-friendly for both teachers and students. Mr Sethi introduced fun, creative methods to help remove the fear often associated with mathematics, drawing on storytelling, games and real-life connections. A highlight was the introduction to comic novels on the DIKSHA platform, which teachers can use to bring different chapters to life through visual storytelling. The session also covered hands-on Kaushal Bodh activities that schools can use to strengthen conceptual clarity and build problem-solving and collaborative skills. Teachers left with practical, joyful teaching strategies to ease maths anxiety and build more student-centred classrooms, along with fresh ideas for making mathematics enjoyable, meaningful, and accessible for all learners.
