“On 8th April (Day 2), the training on The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People began with a recap of Habit 1: Be Proactive and Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. The facilitator then introduced Habit 3: Put First Things First, focusing on prioritization, goal setting, and time management. Participants were encouraged to draft a personal mission statement and were introduced to the concept of self‑fulfilling prophecy. An engaging paper plane activity helped illustrate the importance of having goals, learning from others, and improving one’s approach to achieve better results. Another activity on spending a bonus amount highlighted the difference between urgent and important choices, reinforcing the need for weekly planning through a Sunday to‑do list. The facilitator also explained the Quadrant Self‑Check Box (Unavoidable, Nourishing, Looks Important but is Not, and Not Important), followed by group presentations and a discussion on planning, scheduling, and organizing time effectively.
The session continued with Habit 4: Think Win‑Win, emphasizing mutual benefit and the concept of the Emotional Bank Account, built through trust, kindness, clear expectations, loyalty, and forgiveness. Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then Be Understood highlighted empathetic listening, appropriate responses, and the use of “I‑messages” for effective communication. The day concluded with Habit 6: Synergize, focusing on creative cooperation, valuing differences, and seeking better solutions together. Overall, the session was interactive, practical, and insightful, providing tools that can be applied in both personal and professional life.
