Report on Field Trip
As part of the Business Studies and Entrepreneurship curriculum, students of Grades XI and XII participated in an educational field visit to the Shivaji Camp Vegetable and Fruit Wholesale Market, Decathlon Sports Centre, and McDonald’s Outlet on 25th June 2026. The visit was designed to provide practical exposure to the Principles of Management and various business operations.
At the wholesale market (Shivaji Market), students observed the functioning of a traditional business setup, including procurement, pricing, distribution, inventory handling, and interactions between wholesalers and retailers. The visit helped them understand the importance of planning, coordination, and efficient supply chain management.
At Decathlon, students explored modern retail practices such as inventory management, visual merchandising, customer service, product categorization, and teamwork. Store representatives explained how management principles are applied to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
The visit to McDonald’s provided insights into standardized business processes, quality control, staffing, training, and customer service management. Students observed how planning, organizing, directing, and controlling are effectively implemented in a globally recognized business model.
The field visit offered valuable experiential learning opportunities, enabling students to connect classroom concepts with real-world business practices. It enhanced their understanding of management functions, entrepreneurship, retail operations, and customer-centric business strategies while encouraging analytical thinking and practical learning.
